Bill Zimmerman's Weekly Tip - Sometimes You Shine...And Sometimes You Eat Crow - But You ALWAYS Must Keep Going!

Welcome Christmas! 'Tis the season of giving - and receiving - gifts. Of course, most gifts are things we want to receive. But, you occasionally get a 2-year old fruitcake, too...

Well, the mortgage industry has certainly provided me with many gifts this year, including many good ones, like a job that's provided a good living for my family, the chance to meet so many new people and develop trusting relationships with many of you. This business is also great exercise; my heartrate is nearly always elevated as I work hard to keep up everyday!

Of course, I learned from a few lumps of coal, too, in the form of new, tighter underwriting guidelines and government regulations (soon to become even more restrictive) and some dumb mistakes I wish I wouldn't have made.

But, I do my best to take a page out of my 1-year old's playbook when I've had a particularly tough day or week. He's learning to walk right now and is just a little tipsy still... Falls down, a lot! But, I never hear him say, "Man, this is just too hard. I give up! Forget this walking thing. I'm never going to learn to do it." In fact, I've never heard of any baby saying something like that.

They have faith in themselves and an unwavering believe that they will eventually succeed! We can all learn from that - especially when the going gets rough...

So, let's get back up and keep going! Most of the successful people in the world aren't the most intelligent, most naturally gifted, or best-looking. They're the most persistent and diligent in putting one foot in front of the other day after day, week after week, year after year. And that's something ALL of us can do!

Your Partner in Greater Success,

Bill Zimmerman
