In addition to enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors on Saturday, I did something I haven't done for nearly twenty years. I coached a children's soccer game for my son's YMCA team. It was really enjoyable! I had a lot of fun encouraging and helping the kids feel a sense of accomplishment as they contributed to the game.
If you've ever coached or watched children play soccer, particularly beginners, you've probably witnessed first-hand the "herd soccer" effect. Somehow, the soccer ball itself takes on magnetic qualities that really weren't very noticeable during practice. All the kids on the field - regardless of who's team they're on - seem pulled towards it against their will and group together in a directionless mass of kicking legs - no matter what you thought you might have taught them before about staying in their positions. Needless to say, I know what we need to work on in practice tomorrow evening...
On Friday I mailed out this month's Sales & Marketing Mastery Newsletter to each of you. This edition specifically addresses how to avoid "herd soccer" syndrome in your individual real estate marketing efforts. Remember, you are a business. You must stand out apart from the rest of the agents out there. You must find a way to rise above the tendency towards mindless herd soccer in real estate.
Be sure to take the time to read the April newsletter to learn some specific ways to avoid real estate "herd soccer."
As always, I'm available to answer your lending questions and help your clients achieve homeownership through lending expertise exactly as promised, on time, without inconveniencing you. I look forward to working with you soon!
